Jarinee Mateekul, also known by all as ‘Uncle Ple’ (Lung Ple), a nickname born from a simple reason – she just didn't want to be called ‘Auntie’. Lung Ple attained her education majoring in Faculty of Sociology and Anthropology. She embarked on her television career right after graduation and continues in the industry to this day. Currently, she has opened her own television production company under the name ‘3344 COMPANY LIMITED’. 

 

Over a decade ago, Lung Ple found herself enchanted by the art world under the guidance of ‘Kru To’ M.L.Chiratorn “Kru To” Chirapravati  and ‘Kru Parn’ (Somnuek Klangnok). It all began with just one phrase from Kru To: “If Ple wants to capture beautiful pictures, Ple must delve in the world of art”. However, Lung Ple embarked on her art journey feeling constrained, for no matter how much she drew, it never seemed beautiful or resembled anything. It wasn’t until Kru To imparted this wisdom: “No need for beauty, no need to resemble anything; draw what brings Ple joy”. From then on, Lung Ple’s artistic spirit began to bloom, she drew every day, sketching everyone she knew, stretching her artistry to capture nearly everyone important in the world. She even coined her own nickname, calling herself “Lung Ple, Draws No Resemblance”.

 

Four years ago, Lung Ple summoned the courage to offer her sketchbook to Master Chalermchai Kositpipat for review. The professor was impressed by Lung Ple’s ability to draw every day. He chuckled and ordered, “Don’t show your sketchbook to anyone! They’ll criticize it for not being beautiful, and you’ll believe them! Go back and draw another 20 volumes!” 

 

Today, Lung Ple completed her 20th sketchbook. When she met Professor Chalermchai again, he suggested that she could now arrange an art exhibition. He even volunteered to give the opening speech for the event. 

 

And thus, the utterly joyous life journey of “Lung Ple, Draws No Resemblance” has led to this very moment …
